Description
The enhanced Haaze v2 by Klevgrand offers a sophisticated approach to managing stereo width and spatially positioning sounds within a stereo mix. Traditional left-right panning often falls short of mimicking real-world acoustics, which becomes evident when attempting to place a mono sound seamlessly in a stereo environment, particularly when using headphones, as the outcome tends to sound overly "mono." The Haaze plugin enhances audio positioning, making it feel more intuitive and enjoyable for listeners. It achieves this by dividing the audio signal into 16 distinct frequency bands, allowing users to delay the left or right signal within each band to create an effect that tricks the listener into perceiving sound from the direction of the signal that arrives first. Additionally, users can pan sounds left or right and alter the overall width of each band, such as keeping lower frequencies more centered while allowing higher frequencies to spread wider. Haaze is also capable of diffusing a mono signal, broadening its spatial presence. If this concept appears intricate, it ultimately leads to a richer listening experience.
Description
The behavior and recreation of classic VU meters have been meticulously modeled, showcasing the intricate ballistics of their operation. Users can select RMS modes from K-12, K-14, and K-20 scales, complemented by an integrated peak bargraph for enhanced monitoring. The ballistics of the meter are entirely customizable, with a distinctive overshoot parameter that adds a unique touch. VUMT simplifies gain staging with its specialized trim controls, ensuring ease of use. The interface supports resizing and provides options to either hide controls or display only the meters, including a singular meter option. Additionally, VUMT comes with eight customizable skins to suit various user preferences and an editable instance label for better organization. Beyond the standard features, the deluxe version of VUMT expands its capabilities with additional metering types like BBC, DIN, and Nordic, along with extra channel tools, including Mute and Polarity reverse buttons, a dedicated monitor section, and an array of signal processing tools. These tools feature HighPass and LowPass Filters, a single band dynamic EQ with various filtering options ideal for eliminating resonances or de-essing, and a mono maker that allows users to narrow the stereo image below specific frequency thresholds, providing comprehensive control over audio monitoring and processing. Overall, the VUMT series presents a robust solution for audio professionals seeking precision and versatility in their metering tools.
